Prep for trekking and expedition

ホテルに着いたら、今度はTrekking+Expeditionのガイドがピックアップに来るからということでしばらく待っていました。1時間ほどしたところで、ガイド氏登場。そこからだらだらと歩いて繁華街の中にあるツアーオフィスに行きます。

フェスティバル期間中だから人気がないといっているものの、結構な人混み。普段だったらどんなことになっているのかとかなり恐ろしくなります。

オフィスに入りいろいろ交渉。負けてくれるといったやんか、とかいいつつかなり現地でさらにディスカウント。かなり細かいところまでチェックチェックの連続です。
さすがにオフィスのシャチョーさんも折れてくれたようで、すんなりとことが運びます。まあ、これでよかったよかった。

その後は、クライミング時のギアの一部である厳冬期用のシュラフとダウンジャケットを借りに近所のギアショップへ。さすが登山のメッカだけあって、品数が豊富です。

After checking in the hotel, tour guide took me to the tour office and started briefing. Even at Kathmandu, I really enjoed negotiation of the payment condition and finally won the discount. Tour officer was very tough but after all, he made good compliment package for me.

Leaving office, tour guide and I went to the mountaineering shop and took a sleeping bag and dawn jacket for the cold place. Shop is filled with so many equipments, which means that this area  is one of mountaineering bases in the world.
