10/15 Arrive at Kathmandu

かくして、Thai Air機はKathmandu International Airportに到着しました。

ビザを申請しないといけないので、飛行機を降りてImmigrationの長い列に入ります。ほぼ同じくらいの時間にKALなんかも来ているので韓国人のお客さんが結構多いのにびっくりします。

15日間分の観光ビザは＄25。高いのか安いのか検討がつきません。

Immigrationを通過しバゲージクレームを通過すると、EXIT。そのあたりからいろいろと声がかかり始めます。

『ホテルは決めてあるの？』
『タクシー予約した？』
『・・・、安いよ！』

しゃべっている英語があまりよくわかりません。

すごい人混みの中、ピックアップにきた兄ちゃんが持っている紙に、私の名前が書いてあるのがわかりました。おー。これでなんとかなる。

荷物を車に載せ、ホテルに向かいます。

なんでも、今はお祭りの時期でカトマンズにいる人も半分くらいは故郷に帰ったりしているとのこと。おまけに、ほとんどのお店がお休み。運転手は、『だからね、街の中もガラガラなんだよね。お客さんラッキーだよ。』なんていいます。
でも、実際には、2人乗り3人乗りのオートバイがすり抜けやら、正面から走ってくるわで、スリリングそのもの。普段の状態だったらどんなことになっていることでしょうかね。

ホテルに到着しました。
少し休憩したら明日の旅の支度をすることになります。

Somehow, I arrived at Kathmandu. Some other flights are getting there at same time and the immigration is so crowded.

I have to apply sightseeing visa and there are long lines to wait. Visa for 15days costs $25. I can't see that it costs expensive or not.
After picking up my luggage, finally going to exit. At the arrival gate, so many people talking and showing tourist some ad-boards and name cards. Someone said,

"Did you make a reservation of hotel?"
"How about taking taxi?"
"I'll show you very best rate..."

I found two guys to pick me up and take to hotel and tour office. Car runs fast and are competing with motorcycles and bicycles. Driver said to me that city is not so crowded today because it's festival period. Most of the shops are closed and more than fifty percentage people go back to their hometowns.

In the meantime, I arrived at Shanker Hotel. Starting to prepare for trekking and expedition from tomorrow.
